Climate change destructive typography is a personal project which was inspired by Gustav Metzger’s Auto-Destructive art movement. Taking the form of a handmade booklet it depicts physical typography in various states of destruction.
I created physical typography and then used a process led method to attempt to destroy the words in ways which were in-keeping with each words own meaning. In some ways, a kind of onomatopoeic destruction. This gave unpredictable results which I recorded using time lapse and photography, I then selected the most interesting outcomes for the booklet.
This project conveys the fragility of our environment as we all live through the climate crisis and witness the increasing damage to our world.
